Technical notes on the questions that decide a LiDAR project.
- 01
What LiDAR already exists over your project?
Earlier surveys add history, coverage and a cross-check, once their date, density, specification, licence and datum are checked and they are corrected onto one frame.
- 02
How do you read a confidence layer?
Five classes, point by point: three or two passes agree, a single pass, change detected, or modelled and flagged.
- 03
Is it real change or survey error?
Real change exceeds the surveys’ disagreement on stable ground, after alignment. Anything smaller is indistinguishable from survey error.
